Every day is a chance
To climb out the pit that is my failure
Going from first to last
Was a setback I could not imagine twice
Guess it's called growing up
Or a two step forward one step back thing
But when I look at my peers
It just feels like I am 50 steps behind
Though I'm not giving up
I do wonder if my fate's been sealed
As a loser for life
One with no acclaim or fame or fortune
Though all I really want's
The success that sustains my art, my band
And of course most of all
For the listener, You, to make my music yours
I'm home from work again
A thought occurs to me
If I could just spend these 40 hours
On Pollinators instead
Well, I guess I better
Do it for you, Do it for me too
